Luchador Bane is the fourth and final challenge of Update 2.1, and the second one I'll be covering for his Nightmare difficulty guide.

32px-InjusticePassive.PNG Feel the Pain:  When Bane (Luchador) tags in, he has a chance to STUN his opponent and deals 25% extra damage for 4 seconds. 

This new Bane card is the most destructive of Banes so far, and the toughest card in the game in terms of raw base damage. In addition, his passive can STUN people on tag-in (minus Batman Beyond and the Dead Zone) and it also deals an extra 25% damage for 4 seconds. A lot can happen in that small time frame, but Bane can prevail or any opponent with his high damage.

Basic Knowledge

Bane's challenge has 189 total battles, 63 per difficulty. Four rounds have 12 battles, and the last round has 15 battles, with the challenge character appearing either as a mini-boss, boss, or souped up boss. It will take 189 Challenge Credits to do so. Every battle can be fought or skipped. If the battle is skipped, it costs Power Credits to do so. This adds a bit of motivation so players don't have to buy their way through. But sometimes, players can't defeat a certain battle, and as such, are forced to skip it. As you progress, battles become tougher, and skip prices become higher as well.

Bane's challenge lasts 17 days from ?? to ??. The chart below shows you how much it costs to skip ALL challenges in a round per difficulty. The only one that changes is the final round where you encounter the Challenge character as a boss.

Recommended Teams

The recommended teams are ones I compiled to correspond with the challenge's requirements. These are my recommendations, but you are free to use other ones.

Round 1: Bronze Characters Only

Bronze Characters only! Probably the easiest of all the challenges. Or not. You must have any of the Bronze cards available in Injustice. I use this team to win all my battles.

Insurgency Deathstroke Lex Luthor Prime Regime Solomon Grundy
Deathstroke gains 15% of his total power whenever he knocks out an opponent. Lex Luthor and his teammates gain 15% INCREASED DAMAGE. Solomon Grundy regenerates 25% of his health when knocked out.

Deathstroke is one of the strongest Bronze cards. On top of that, because of his high damage, he knocks out opponents quickly, and gains some power back to finish the fight. Lex Luthor adds a strong damage boost increase, and also has a power drain, which is useful for saving your arse in a fight. Lastly, Solomon Grundy, the tank of the group, can take one blow that would have killed him. He also has a poisonous second special which adds extra DPS. Give DS the damage gears, Lex the Blue Ring, and Solomon Grundy the Power gears so he can use Grave Rot more often.

Round 2: Wonder Woman Required

Round 2 features Wonder Woman of all prospects. Round 2 is a bit harder this time of the challenge rounds. As such, any team is really possible. But, here is my recommended team.

All FEMALE characters on Wonder Woman's team gain 30% DAMAGE and POWER GENERATION. At 40% health, for 8 seconds, Raven's basic attacks DRAIN POWER from her opponent. All teammates on Harley Quinn's team gain 20% DAMAGE and POWER GENERATION.

Wonder Woman 600 is one of the most beneficial cards in the game due to her passive and 2nd attack which causes bleeding. Raven does heavy damage and can drain power at low health. Harley Quinn adds more boosts to the mix, essentially, the whole team gains 50% DAMAGE and POWER GENERATION.

Round 3: Bronze and Silver Characters Only

Round 3 is a brutal challenge, it has been beefed up a LOT. Mostly because you're now sparring with Gold characters and you have just Silver (or if you're a tough one) Bronze characters. Here is the team I used. This one is about survival instead of sweeping.

Nightwing takes 50% LESS DAMAGE from basic attacks. Lex Luthor and his teammates gain 25% MORE HEALTH. On tag-in, Black Adam gains a shield that damages the enemy when hit (for 50% damage back). Lasts 3 hits.

Nightwing can hold his own, but will take lots of damage later on. Give him his Kali sticks for unblockable hits and damage boost, and a healing gear for his first special. Lex Luthor should have damage reduction gear due to his power drain and high health. Lastly, Black Adam is beneficial due to his high damage and high levelled power drain. Give him your best damage gears.

Round 4: Nightwing Required

Round 4 is where fights begin to get tougher. You'll be fighting tougher opponents at Elite IV from the get-go. Consider it the briefing of what's to come in Round 5. Many teams can be used in this, but here are mine.

Superman and his teammates gain a 25% boost to BASIC attacks for every Red Son on the team. Upon tag in, Nightwing deals 100% more damage with his basic attacks for 4 seconds. Hawkgirl and her teammates can tag-in and tag-out faster (4 second cooldown)

You could have two Red Son's, but I chose Hawkgirl to maximize Nightwing's passive. Nightwing will do high damage with or without his passive, and as such his gears should be one that heals on Special 1 and damage gears. Superman should also have some damage gears due to his passive. Hawkgirl is best for damage gears as well, but having heal gears on her is good as well since she attacks very fast.

Round 5: Flash Required

Last but not least comes round 5. This one is the hardest seen so far of any ROUND 5 match, since you fight Mini-Boss Battles every two rounds instead of starting them at the ninth fight. As such, you will want a very high damage team.

Reaching 200% on POINT BLANK causes it to become UNBLOCKABLE and automatically CRIT. Bonus 8% damage to ALL ATTACKS per promotion (up to 56%) Batman starts battles with 2 BARS of POWER. At 30% health, Flash SLOWS TIME and DISABLES his enemy's specials for 7 seconds.

I understand not everyone may have AO Deathstroke, so consider using Darkseid (from the challenge pack) or Red Son Superman. AO Deathstroke has a wicked damage passive, and is even better with DAMAGE gears, provided he has one Healing gear as well. Batman should be the team healer, use a Blue Ring on him when he uses his second special, as he gains two bars of POWER to start. Lastly, Flash is the weakest card, but give enough POWER generation gear cards to him and he can attack lightning fast and deal high damage as well. This round you will want to clear your enemies quickly.
