The Cloak of Destiny is a piece of Legendary (5-Star) Gear, evolved from the Epic (4-Star) gear, Cloak. The unevolved version can be obtained by ranking in the top 5% of certain Online Battle seasons, or as a possible reward in the Worst Heroes Ever Bundle, The Dawn of Justice Triple Pack, Nth Metal Pro Packs, or Nth Metal Ultimate Packs.

Effects[]

  • CRIT BOOST: 30% - 50% more damage on CRIT attacks
  • 100 - 200% Damage increase against stunned
  • [EVOLVED] 10 - 20% STUN chance on Tag-In

Mechanics[]

Damage boost against stunned[]

Cloak's damage increase against stunned works with:

It doesn't work with:

There is no way to know how Black Adam/Regime and Black Adam/Prime's passives work with the Cloak (as well as reflect damage), as a stunned opponent cannot trigger those effects.

Elseworld Flash's passive, when activated, will cause him to break free from stuns and allow him to react, but he is still counted as stunned for the purpose of the Cloak's damage amplification.

A stun will wear off immediately after you stop using a basic combo or a special. If you hit the stunned character once with a basic attack and then use a special, the special's damage will not be boosted even if they are still unable to react yet. If you continue the basic combo, the whole combo will gain the damage boost, even if the stun was about to wear off (particularly of note if stunning with a character and utilizing the Cloak on another character while you need to wait a couple seconds before you can tag in), and even long ones like those of The Arkham Knight, with one exception: the boost will wear off mid-combo for The Flash/Metahuman's triple speed combos. Only the first two hits of Reverse Flash's "infinite combo" would be boosted, as the next hits are technically a new combo.

There is special mechanic applied to special attacks. The % damage boost is based on special's minimum damage, regardless players' performances on its mini-games. So if players achieve either 100% or 200% on the mini-game, the bonus boosted damage is still the same. It stacks with other sources of special attack damage boost.

Tag-in stun[]

Cloak of Destiny's stun triggers individually from other sources of tag-in stun, such as the Fourth World Godly Helmet and Bane/Luchador's passive - multiple tag-in stun effects can trigger as the same time, as it is possible to see multiple 1 damage hits from the stuns. That means two sources of 20% tag in stun results in 100% - 80% * 80% = 36% chance for at least one stun on tag-in, rather than additively 40%.While the tag-in stun may appear very similar to Bane/Luchador's passive (albeit with a much lower chance of activation) the Cloak of Destiny's stun has a couple of significant differences. It can be blocked. However, gear stuns are activated faster than Luchador Bane's stun, making it impossible to react to (while there is a very short time to react by using a special when Bane tags in if you are anticipating him, which negates his stun). This higher speed can also determine whether the stun will miss in some cases: if another character scores a knockdown blow, and then a character with the Cloak of Destiny or Luchador Bane tags in, the stun can only hit if they are being knocked down, and it would miss if they are getting up.

Strategy[]

The Cloak of Destiny is often regarded as one of the most powerful piece of gears ever released on Injustice Mobile. The damage increase against stunned opponents is simply huge, and it works with Batgirl's visual stun at the beginning of her special 1. Coupled with her own crit boost gear and Batgirl/Cassandra Cain's high base damage allows her to deal truly ridiculous amounts of damage (although her own passive will negate the tag-in stun, giving her opponent a moment to react). If Batman/Batman Ninja is equipped with the Cloak of Destiny, he can potentially do very high amounts of damage as well, though his slow SP2 negates this advantage.

It works well with any character who can stun, but particularly those who can stun very often and have unblockable stuns, such as Luchador Bane, The Flash/Earth 2 or Batgirl/Arkham Knight. LexCorp Gauntlets V2 is its best partner thanks to its additional stun chance on tag-in and SP1 crit chance. When both gears are equipped with League of Assassins Adept Knives, users can destroy the enemy team with a SP1, knock out the active enemy and deal massive area effect damage to the remaining ones, leaving them severely wounded. This is the most well-known setup for Bane/Luchador.

Using a strong special 2 to knock out the previous character can often protect you against the incoming stun as you are invulnerable during the special's animation. Green Lantern/Red Son offers himself and all Red Son teammates immunity to stun (although Batgirl's and Batman/Batman Ninja's SP2's stun will still work) and crits, making him very strong against the Cloak of Destiny. Aquaman/Regime's Super Move can drain all power from tagged-out opponents, reducing the Cloak's threat.
