Passive Ring Overcharge: If an opponent tags out while fighting Sinestro, he gains a 50% damage increase to his next SPECIAL ATTACK or SUPER MOVE.

Strategy[]

Basic Attacks[]

Basic combo Damage pattern (% of damage stat) Total (including Combo Ender)
Light (Combo Ender) 2% - 2% - 2% - (3%) 9%
Heavy 4% - 4% - 4% 12%

Passive[]

Sinestro Green Lantern is a dangerous card to switch out against unless you're properly prepared. His passive gives him a strong damage boost (similar to Superman/Regime) whenever his opponent switches out with a new character. This can be good with special attacks when catching your opponents off guard.

IMG 1563-1-

Sinestro actives his passive when an opponent tag out.

Green Lantern Sinestro's passive can only activate once per his tag-in, unlike other versions of Sinestro. No matter how many times his opponent tag out, he can only gain the boost once until he himself tags out and back in again, and will gain the boost when his opponent tags out after that.

If Sinestro tags out while Ring Overcharge is still active, he will lose the buff.

It should be noted that despite appearances, Green Lantern Sinestro is still classified as a Sinestro character, and will count as Sinestro character for any purpose. However, he will count towards the Green Lantern-only passive of Green Lantern/Jessica Cruz Rebirth.

Interactions[]

Please note that battles are highly situational: this section only mentions cards that have mechanics that, for any reason, are particularly effective with/against, or particularly ineffective against Sinestro. Having a card that "counters" Sinestro does not mean it is always a good choice.

Good With[]

  • Jessica Cruz/Rebirth: This allows Jessica Cruz's SP2 to deal additional hits since he counts as a Green Lantern.
  • Characters or Gear that can increase power generation: This allows Sinestro to get his special move quicker and deal extra damage when his passive triggers.

Good Against[]

  • Hawkgirl/Prime: Sinestro benefits from the opponent tagging in and out.
  • Shazam/New 52: He will tag-out if he has reached the needed health threshold, putting his next tag-in teammate in danger.
