Arkhams Origins Deathstroke is the third challenge of Update 2.1, and the first one I'll be covering for his Nightmare difficulty guide.

32px-InjusticePassive.PNG Elite Soldier: On landing 200% with Point Blank, it will become UNBLOCKABLE and always CRIT. Bonus 8% percent damage per promotion to damage stat. (Up to a maximum of 56% at Elite 7)

As you can see, this is the most beefed out Deathstroke card so far. Stats and abilities are viewable at this page (Deathstroke/Arkham Origins). Deathstroke has a chance of an UNBLOCKABLE first special, and gets an 8% boost to ALL DAMAGE every time he gets promoted, up to a 56% damage increase. That means his basic and special attacks hit harder. As such, this is a MUST HAVE card for any roster.

Basic Knowledge

Deathstroke's challenge has 189 total battles, 63 per difficulty. Four rounds have 12 battles, and the last round has 15 battles, with the challenge character appearing either as a mini-boss, boss, or souped up boss. It will take 189 Challenge Credits to do so. Every battle can be fought or skipped. If the battle is skipped, it costs Power Credits to do so. This adds a bit of motivation so players don't have to buy their way through. But sometimes, players can't defeat a certain battle, and as such, are forced to skip it. As you progress, battles become tougher, and skip prices become higher as well.

Deathstroke's challenge lasts 17 days from August 7 2014 to August 25 2014. The chart below shows you how much it costs to skip ALL challenges in a round per difficulty. The only one that changes is the final round where you encounter the Challenge character as a boss.

Recommended Teams

The recommended teams are ones I compiled to correspond with the challenge's requirements. These are my recommendations, but you are free to use other ones.

Round 1: Bronze Characters Only

Bronze Characters only! Probably the easiest of all the challenges. Or not. You must have any of the Bronze cards available in Injustice. I use this team to win all my battles.

DSIns
LexLuthorPrime
SolomonGrundyRegime
Insurgency Deathstroke Lex Luthor Prime Regime Solomon Grundy
Deathstroke gains 15% of his total power whenever he knocks out an opponent. Lex Luthor and his teammates gain 15% INCREASED DAMAGE. Solomon Grundy regenerates 25% of his health when knocked out.

Deathstroke is one of the strongest Bronze cards. On top of that, because of his high damage, he knocks out opponents quickly, and gains some power back to finish the fight. Lex Luthor adds a strong damage boost increase, and also has a power drain, which is useful for saving your arse in a fight. Lastly, Solomon Grundy, the tank of the group, can take one blow that would have killed him. He also has a poisonous second special which adds extra DPS.

Round 2: Green Lantern Required

Round 2 features Green Lantern of all prospects. Round 2 is probably the easiest of the challenge rounds. As such, any team is really possible. But, here is my recommended team.

RegimeSuperman
BatmanPrime
GreenLanternJS
Regime Superman Batman Prime John Stewart Green Lantern
At 40% HEALTH or LESS, Superman gains 50% DAMAGE BOOST for 6 seconds. Batman and his teammates gain 25% INCREASED DAMAGE. At 20% health or less, once per character, an invulnerable shield appears for 4 seconds.

The reason I picked this team is this. You're mostly fighting (if not all) Silver characters with high amounts of health that only Gold characters can punch a big hole through. Regime Superman has an UNBLOCKABLE second special that can kill any of the enemies in one hit, and that is sure due to Batman's passive of extra damage. Green Lantern is required for this challenge, and I picked John Stewart. Just in case you get careless or fall asleep, he can save you, for 4 seconds.

Round 3: Bronze and Silver Characters Only

Round 3 is a tough one. Mostly because you're now sparring with Gold characters and you have just Silver (or if you're a tough one) Bronze characters. Here is the team I used.

FlashRegime
LexLuthorInsurgency
GreenLanternRegime
Regime Flash Insurgency Lex Luthor Regime Green Lantern
The Flash and his team attack 15% FASTER. Lex Luthor and his teammates gain 25% MORE HEALTH. Green Lantern and his teammates gain 25% POWER GENERATION.

I have two Silver teams, but Deathstroke's challenge 3 is going to involve being a tank and having tons of buffs such as health and power to carry on through. Flash is the strongest Silver card behind Black Adam Prime, and attacks fast. Lex is a power drainer and adds a bloody brilliant health boost. Green Lantern adds a quick power generation, perfect for Flash who hits really fast. Also, if you want, you can sub out Flash for Killer Frost/Regime. She is a glitched Gold card who functions in Silver battles.

Round 4: Cyborg Required

Round 4 is where fights begin to get tougher. Consider it the briefing of what's to come in Round 5. You'll need a member of the Teen Titans, Cyborg, to do the job. Lucky enough, this round is about endurance. Which takes time, and time is what benefits this team I have.

CyborgTeenTitans
LexLuthorKrypto
HarleyQuinnAnimated
Teen Titans Cyborg Krypto Lex Luthor Animated Harley Quinn
Cyborg heals at 300% the normal rate when tagged out. Lex Luthor and his teammates gain 30% MORE HEALTH. Harley Quinn and her teammates gain 20% DAMAGE and POWER GENERATION.

Cyborg is going to be the main tank and damage dealer. Here's the catch; should he be in trouble, tag him out and he'll heal quickly. Have Lex be your second tank who can power drain and do massive damage (since he is the strongest card here). Harley Quinn offers power and damage, and an unblockable second attack if things get tough.

Round 5: Green Arrow Required

Last but not least comes round 5. Where your most powerful of teams comes together to defeat the hardest of opponents who are still at Elite V. You can use any combo of Gold characters with Green Arrow, but here is what I used.

GACW
BatmanAO
ShazamPrime
CW Green Arrow Arkham Origins Batman Shazam Prime
Green Arrow on successful combos has a chance of launching an arrow with unique effects. Batman starts battles with 2 BARS of POWER. Upon Super Move activation, Shazam takes 50% less damage, deals 300% more damage with BASIC attacks, and can use special attacks freely for 12 seconds.

Green Arrow acts as your power drain unit, but also has some good effects with his passive. He can freeze, detonate, or poison your opponent. If you manage to freeze an opponent, use AO Batman to deal massive damage for free. You'll be encountering some tough enemies in Round 5 who have high health (in the 100,000's) so it's good to have that. Shazam, on the other hand when he uses his super move can deal a lot of free damage as well, good for knocking out those tough foes. Consider giving him the Blue Ring to heal up to 72% on your team when it goes rough.

All Battles

These are all the battles in the Nightmare difficulty version of this challenge. Please consult the recommended teams above.
