Passive Sword of Athena: Wonder Woman's SPECIAL ATTACKS trigger TEAM HEALTH GAIN, which provides 50% of the SPECIAL ATTACK's damage in healing.

Dawn of Justice Wonder Woman is a sturdy character whose special attacks heal her team by half the damage dealt. It is wise to utilize her during the later parts of the battle and use her specials to heal a substantial amount of health and keep the battle going.

Strategy[]

Basic attacks[]

Basic Combo Damage Pattern (% of damage stat) Total (including Combo Ender)
Light (Combo Ender) 2% - 2% - 2% - (3% - 3% - 3%) 15%
Heavy 4% - 4% - 4% 12%

Her Combo Ender can only KO on its last hit. The 1st and 2nd hits can only bring the opponent to 1 health. This includes against Resurrect effects, not triggering it until the last hit.

Passive[]

Using her passive

Wonder Woman healing her teammates with her passive.

Any damage dealt to Wonder Woman's opponent by her special attacks (not Super Move), as well as damage-over-time within the duration, heals her entire team by half the amount, similar to Martian Manhunter/Blackest Night's team lifedrain aura.

Her passive is technically NOT Life Drain as Batman/Batman Ninja is still affected by it when he is outnumbered and it doesn't contribute to Phantom Zone's Steal Health objective.

Despite having a good passive, she has a bad SP2, and the SP1 that cannot be chained from heavy combo unlike other Wonder Woman characters, making it is a bit unpractical to utilize her in high level gameplay. Regardless, she is still a helpful support characters for newer players, and a decent choice for early rounds of Survivor Mode.

She could be played in a number of ways. Her best teammates are probably Wonder Woman/600 and Wonder Woman/New 52 - the former boosts the whole team's damage and power generation, while the latter pumps out power for the other two with her own specials, which Dawn of Justice Wonder Woman can convert into team healing.

Gear[]

She could be built simply for basic damage with Overpowered 5-U-93-R, Gauntlets of Azrael, plus any piece of basic damage/crit gear (e.g. Blade of The War God), allowing her Combo Enders to heal her team substantially as well (however, if available, Green Lantern/Jessica Cruz Rebirth is stronger and can also take advantage of the two other Wonder Woman's passives).

If you want to focus on specials, you want to avoid utility and maximize damage to make the most of her passive. Her SP2's burn does not apply passive - so it only heals marginally more than her SP1 on a per power bar basis, and is less flexible (second half negated if blocked too). Therefore, it is suggested to focus on SP1. One recommended build is Cloak of Destiny, LexCorp Gauntlets V2, and Tantu Totem. She'd have 44% chance to stun on tag in, and will always get a bar of power to use at least one s1. When stunned, her SP1 will be able to do lots of damage and heal.

Gear DOT is an unorthodox, but nevertheless very effective, build for her. The Master's Death Cart, The Ibistick, and League of Assassins Adept Blade (or LexCorp Helmet V2) allows her to do lots of DOT based on enemy max health if she uses a special immediately after tag in (works on most tag ins, other than her first one of the match). Her passive will heal according to DOT as long as it is during her special animation.

Interactions[]

Please note that battles are highly situational: this section only mentions cards that have mechanics that, for any reason, are particularly effective with/against, or particularly ineffective against Wonder Woman. Having a card that "counters" Wonder Woman does not mean it is always a good choice.

Good With[]

  • Despite not being explicitly apparent, if one is to apply a DoT to an opponent (e.g. with Scorpion/Mortal Kombat X) and then activate Wonder Woman's Special 2, the DoT damage will also be life drained during the Special 2's duration making any high DoT card an asset.
  • Wonder Woman/New 52: Her passive gives Justice League teammates lots of power when she uses her special attacks, allowing constant healing and power gain cycle between the two of them.
  • Wonder Woman/600, and Harley Quinn/Animated: They both increase Power generation and Damage, which will allow Wonder Woman to use her specials more often and heal her teammates by a larger amount.
  • Green Lantern/Regime: Same as above, although to a slightly lesser extent as he does not boost damage and is a silver tier character.

Good Against[]

  • Batman/Batman Ninja: Wonder Woman’s passive is technically not Life Drain; she and her team would still heal from her damage dealt albeit lesser due to Batman’s damage mitigation.
  • The Joker/Batman Ninja: Similarly, as it is technically not Life Drain, his passive cannot copy it.
  • Characters and gears that can deal Area Effect damage as she can heal the entire team, essentially undoing the damage.

Countered By[]

  • Killer Frost: Killer Frost/Regime's passive greatly reduces Wonder Woman's healing effectiveness, while Killer Frost/Prime reduces her power generation, severely weakening the use of Wonder Woman's passive.
  • Killer Croc/Arkham: If he has enough armor built up, Wonder Woman's life drain may damage the armor, but will receive no healing from it.
  • Batman/Flashpoint: Batman's passive disables all healing after using his specials, rendering Wonder Woman's passive temporarily useless.
  • Scorpion/Klassic: Scorpion is immune to the Burn DOT on Wonder Woman’s SP2 (should she ever manage to land it unblocked but not KO Scorpion).

Abilities[]

Here are Wonder Woman's abilities.

Ability Classification Description Usage
Shield Toss First Special Wonder Woman performs multiple strikes then uses her shield as a projectile, taking her opponent unawares. Rapid Swipe
Fires of Hephaestus Second Special Wonder Woman calls on the power of the Gods to bring justice to her opponent. BURNING: DAMAGE-OVER-TIME for 6 secs. Quick Tap,
Rapid Tap
Justice Javelin Super Move Wonder Woman calls in allies to help annihilate her opposition. UNBLOCKABLE. Tap

Dawn of Justice Wonder Woman's Shield Toss hits 3 times instead of 1, and the first two hits are melee while the last resembles the regular Shield Toss, making it impossible to chain after her heavy basic attacks, unlike other versions of Wonder Woman.

Her SP2, Fires of Hephaestus, can be chained from her heavy basic attacks, though only the first hit will connect (unless the opponent is at the far end of the arena).

The second part of Fires of Hephaestus will be negated if the first part is blocked, negated by Invulnerability or Blink, misses, or knocks out an opponent. The volcano at the end that damages and applies the burn also has a relatively short range, and can miss entirely when she uses it on a target staggered by The Master's Death Cart.

Despite the description, Fires of Hephaestus burns for 8 seconds. The total damage is roughly equal to 122% of her damage stat (prior to upgrades; as opposed to 120% norm), but without the burn it only amounts to 82%, which is the only part that applies her passive.

Trivia[]

  • Her artifacts are: Shield, Sword, Boots, Tiara, and Gauntlets.
  • Dawn of Justice Wonder Woman was first seen on a WB Games forum admin's giphy account after Batman/Dawn of Justice's official preview, before being officially revealed in her own preview.
  • Although in the preview clip, it shows her health stats as 1500, but in game, it turns out to be 1400 instead; making her to be another character that has their stats changed from the previews, which is the same as Batman/Dawn of Justice when his base damage stats was changed (1400 changed to 1300 instead).
  • She, along with Batman/Dawn of Justice and Superman/Dawn of Justice, are based off of the depiction of the characters in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice.
    • Her combo-ender show her crossing her arms, creating a glowing shockwave and damaging the opponent, similar to her ability in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, as seen here.
  • Dawn of Justice Wonder Woman is the first Wonder Woman character to use her Lasso of Truth in her special 2, and she is the first to have it glow during her Super Move.
  • Unlike all the other versions of Wonder Woman, her Special 1 hits 3 times instead of 1. The first two hits are visually similar to Wonder Woman/Red Son's Special 2. Additionally, she's the only version of Wonder Woman to not have a figure design on her shield.
  • Prior to the 2.15 update, her passive only heals her teammates and not herself.
  • She has the same base stats as Darkseid/Apokolips.
  • All challenge characters released during the 2.8 update cannot be promoted with Power Credits. Thus, the highest Promotion they can have is Elite III (completing challenge 3 times total and buying an Early Access Pack).
  • During her challenge repeat from June 24th to July 1st of 2016, the Justice League Pack was brought back to the store, as one the her requirements was Aquaman. Additionally, if you obtain the first copy of her through her repeat challenge (or, if you missed her challenge before, and completed her challenge in the repeat this time), you can now promote her with Power Credits!
  • Like Life Drain, her passive used to not heal when damaging the Astro-Harness's Power Shield, or Killer Croc/Arkham's Armor. This was later fixed.
